DETROIT, June 22 (Our Michigan Times) — Highlights: new 5.7-liter and 6.6-liter V8 engines, standard 16.3-inch center display, and availability expected later this year.

Chevrolet on June 16 unveiled the next-generation 2027 Silverado 1500, calling it the “most powerful Silverado ever” and saying the truck will go on sale later this year.

The company said the updated full-size pickup will offer next-generation 5.7-liter and 6.6-liter V8 engines. Chevrolet also said the model will continue to offer four powertrain choices, including the enhanced 2.7-liter TurboMax and the Duramax 3.0-liter turbo-diesel.

Chevrolet said the 2027 Silverado 1500 now offers what it calls the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine in its class. The company did not release horsepower or torque figures in the announcement.

Inside, Chevrolet said every 2027 Silverado 1500 will come with a 16.3-inch center display and a 12.2-inch driver information center as standard equipment. ZR2 and High Country trims will add an 11.5-inch front passenger screen, along with a head-up display and rear camera mirror, the company said.

The lineup will include seven models: ZR2, High Country, Trail Boss, Silverado, Custom Trail Boss, Custom and WT. Chevrolet said pricing will be announced later this year.
