NEWARK, N.J., July 17 (Nationwide Times) — Panasonic has recalled about 11,480 electric toaster ovens in the U.S. and another 2,184 in Canada after the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said a cord-insulation problem could create shock and fire hazards for customers who bought the appliances online.
The recall covers Panasonic model NB-G200 stainless steel toaster ovens with the temperature knob on the bottom and the Panasonic brand name on the front. The CPSC said the ovens were sold online at Amazon.com, Costco.com, Panasonic.com and other platforms nationwide from October 2024 through April 2026 for about $170 each.
The agency said it has received four consumer reports of tripped circuit breakers or outlets and one report that the product stopped working. No fires or injuries have been reported.
A Costco member letter from Panasonic Corporation of North America said Costco records show some members bought Item #2024930 between February 2026 and April 2026. The company told consumers to stop using the toaster ovens immediately and said they can return them to Panasonic for a refund or to a Costco Warehouse Customer Service Window for a full refund.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your prompt cooperation,” the letter said.
