INGLEWOOD, Calif., June 26 (Our Los Angeles) — Türkiye scored in stoppage time to beat the United States 3-2 in Los Angeles, but the Americans still finished first in Group D and advanced to the round of 32.

Kaan Ayhan scored the winner late at SoFi Stadium after the U.S. had led and then pulled level. Auston Trusty and Sebastian Berhalter scored for the Americans, while Arda Güler and Barış Alper Yılmaz scored Türkiye’s other goals.

The loss was the United States’ first of the tournament, but it did not alter the team’s knockout path because the U.S. had already clinched the top spot in the group before the match.

FIFA’s official standings and bracket have the U.S. set to face Bosnia and Herzegovina on July 1, with several reports placing the game in Santa Clara, California.
