NAPA, Calif., July 5 (Sonoma Times) — Napa County sheriff’s deputies referred a hit-and-run allegation involving Paul Pelosi, 86, to prosecutors after they said he struck a legally parked car in Yountville and drove away on July 3.

Deputies responded around 2:30 p.m. to the 6700 block of Yount Street, according to a sheriff’s office statement summarized by the Associated Press and The Seattle Times. The office said Pelosi was driving a brown convertible, and no injuries were reported.

A preliminary alcohol screening test returned a 0.00 reading, and the sheriff’s office said driving under the influence was ruled out. The office also said the matter would be sent to the Napa County District Attorney’s Office for review and that a California Department of Motor Vehicles re-evaluation referral would follow.

The Napa County District Attorney’s Office separately said in 2022 that it filed misdemeanor DUI-with-injury charges against Pelosi after a May 28, 2022 collision in Napa County. The office said then that a blood sample showed a .082% blood-alcohol content and that he was to appear for arraignment in Napa County Superior Court on Aug. 3, 2022.
