CALHOUN COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA, June 20 (Infinite Headlines) — Six people have been arrested in connection with a June 6 brawl at the 601 Sand Bar on the Congaree River in Calhoun County, South Carolina, and face various assault and breach-of-peace charges, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office said.

The sheriff’s office identified the suspects as Brendan Bonds, Hunter Dalzell, Lucas Scott, Edward Scott, Austin Mizzell and Taylor Knudson. Authorities said the investigation is still active and that more arrests are expected as detectives continue to review video and public submissions.

Sheriff Thomas Summers said the disturbance was linked to the annual Sparkleberry Duck Run. Video released by the sheriff’s office showed multiple fights and people crowding around the scene.

Officials said more than 20 people were involved and at least three were injured. Summers said the injuries ranged from swollen eyes to head injuries.

Summers also said alcohol was a factor and deputies found numerous cases of underage drinking. Authorities have not publicly said what started the violence.
